Hello current and old Shark families!!!

I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season!! I can't believe it's already 2023!

I am emailing to invite you all to a Polar Bear Plunge!! This is an incredible fundraiser put on by the Alpharetta Rotary Club. It will take place on February 4^th at Wills Park Pool.

Beyond just a fun icy plunge, it’s an incredible fundraiser for organizations that are close to your heart. The Sharks will continue in our efforts to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI provides advocacy, education, support, and public awareness so that all individuals and families affected by mental illness can build better lives.

**Please know that when anyone registers or donates on the website, it will say that the money is going towards the Alpharetta Rotary Club. Please do not specify otherwise. Once the fundraiser has ended, the Rotary Club will give us a check for the amount raised to donate to NAMI**

Here is how donating and the polar plunge works:

1.  Click here: https://www.classy.org/campaign/alpharetta-polar-bear-plunge-2023/c440992 and select “Become a Fundraiser”.

2.  Select “join a team” and create an account joining the Alpharetta Sharks team page.

• When you are creating an account, please name your fundraiser as your child’s name. This way we can see who has raised the most money!

3.  Once you do this, you will have your own page where people can make donations on behalf of your swimmer. This will be a little friendly competition amongst the team The winner from the Sharks team who raises the most money will earn “coach for a day” this upcoming season along with the prize of keeping our 2022 ASA Championship Trophy at their house for the season!!

• People can make donations on your team page, and they will automatically count towards our team total as long as they have joined the team. If they donate directly on the Sharks page, your swimmer will not get credit.
• Anyone can donate on the Sharks page OR a swimmer page without setting up an account. If anyone wants to just donate, that would be appreciated too!!
• If you don’t want to join the team page, you can make a one time donation here: https://www.classy.org/team/466988. Make sure that you access the donate link through another button on the website, that you credit the Alpharetta Sharks.

4.  Again, if you join our team page, all donations will go directly to NAMI at the conclusion of the fundraiser.

• A $50 donation will earn you the opportunity to participate in the polar plunge and get a t-shirt!
• They will also have shirts and other merchandise for sale on the day of the event.
• Please share on social media!! Our Shark family is all over, and the more you can help spread the word, the more money we can raise!
